The Monte Carlo analysis gives Inslee wins 751,986 times, and McKenna wins 243,119 times, suggesting that, in an election held now, Inslee would win with a 75.6% probability and McKenna would win with a 24.4% probability:

You weren't an Elector, nor was I. However, I was a whole lot closer to matriculating at the Electoral College than any of our readers -- had Maria Ehsan, the Elector chosen at the 7th Congressional District's Democratic caucus back in May, been unable to attend the Electoral College meeting in Olympia, yours truly (the Alternate Elector from WA-07) would have taken her place as one of Washington's 12 Electors.
So I was right there in the State Reception Room in Olympia's Legislative Building at noon on December 17, peering over the shoulders of the Electors as they cast their votes.... [Read more... ]

Just like I said.
That’s what she said.
Um, Job 3, and then Job speaks. How hilarious. I guess. Maybe Goldy should have gone all Mission:Impossible on us with Job 3:14. His attempt to spark a humorous thread where a handful of atheist progressives can have a laugh-fest at the expense of all Christians, left and right, might have at least made a little more sense to me.
I think this would be a good place to end HA Bible Study. It was funny at first, but its gotten old and the joke isn’t funny any more.
The major religions are just the most successful cults. They’ve achieved wide acceptance. That’s the only thing that distinguishes them from the lesser cults.
One could say, with some certainty, that religion put the “cult” in “culture.”
Blasphemy and mocking the Bible or Torah is never amusing and offensive to both God and man.
People (atheists) who are committed to an anti-believers/ anti-religious stance, who occupy the opposite camp in the culture wars, who ridicule the Bible or Torah will not be convinced by reason. The problem is not intellectual, or logical, it is Spiritual.
Amen
“May the day of my birth perish, and the night that said, ‘A boy is conceived! That day—may it turn to darkness; may God above not care about it; may no light shine on it.”
Imagine how the world might be if Jesus had said these words on his cross?
But then Jesus woews were self imposed.
I am that I am.
Haha! More Republican assclownery
Goldy, regarding @4, do you think it’s still funny? I still do. Maybe not every week, but this one was an excellent example of the unerring word of God upon which we should base our lives and the course of our Nation’s legal precepts. Rather than imagining the possible blasphemous thoughts of a handful of readers here, I would hope that true believers would be lost in rapturous joy reading those words and recalling the inspiring story of Job and the righteous tests with which our loving God honored him.
What I don’t think is funny is that every day, my son and Goldy’s daughter – sophomores in high school – are required to pledge allegiance to the flag and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God.
I’d be inclined to attribute this one to something like St. Jerome having had an off day–maybe he had to take a leak and lost track of where he was in the original text. Has any of the rest of y’all worked on something for 32 years without making a little goof every now and then?
This is where I part company with the fundamentalists. Except perhaps for the original tablets with the Ten Commandments, the Bible was written by people…certainly inspired and perhaps divinely guided people, but humans nonetheless, with the same weaknesses and frailties as you and I. In a way, that makes Scripture even more remarkable than if God had just made the whole thing appear out of nowhere.
@9 Good point…and I’m not sure which part of that is the worst. Walter Wink refers to nationalism as “the worst form of idolatry”.
Wait, I know this one.
Job 3:1 “I like the night life, Baby”
Job 3:2 “[S]he said”
Job 3:3 “”Let’s go”
Job 3:4 “Clap Clap Clap Clap. Clap Clap Clap Clap Clap Clap Clap.”
See Cars, The, Let’s Go (1979)
What do I win?
