Last week’s contest was won by Don Joe for the second week in a row. It was the area north of the Laredo, TX, where some wingnuts are still claiming that Mexican drug cartel The Zetas overtook some American ranches.
Here’s this week’s, good luck!

It might be an unmarked Mosque where Obama secretly worships. It looks like an abandoned Burlington Coat Factory store in the South.

Im looking around the Mojave County Jail but the building I am seeing is bigger…….

I’m guessing someone showed up at work with a gun, blah, blah, blah… Since you’ve changed to these weekly news themes the contest has been pretty boring. At least you used to find interesting scenes. Warehouses and big box stores are inherently uninteresting and the events that occur in them are tabloid at best.

Brian, point taken. We’re nearing the 100th contest here, and then I may poll the regulars on whether the new or old format is better (or maybe something new).
For me, I enjoy it when I can make these difficult but not impossible. I’ve been liking Andrew Sullivan’s weekly contest, although I’ve only been correct once.

Hey, there are at least three pot-grow operations in warehouses in the past week’s news … plus a couple pot-growing-supply operations. Then there were the raves in warehouses … including the Pantsless Dance in Atlanta. Lee could’ve gone for something like that.

I prefer having it tied to news..at least it gives me a starting point…otherwise, its a needle in a haystack.

Rio Nedo Rd, Temecula CA current location of the Islamic Center of Temecula Valley. They’re looking to build in a better location, with predictable know-nothing reactivity: STORY

Congratulations, wes.
But I think my story of the convicts is much more exciting ;)

Good win!

It took @1’s “unmarked mosque” line a little while to sink in, to think that it might be a tie-in w/ the NYC “ground zero mosque” kerfuffle. Then it was a matter of googling on “warehouse” and “mosque” and it wasn’t more than a couple screens of news stories to check before it came.
