Palm trees & lots of water & rich folks, likely Florida. Neither side of the water is open ocean, so probably an island or peninsula in the intracoastal waterway or therabouts. North-facing photo, thus a waterway trending NNW-SSE. That really limited my search area. Then, it was looking for a slip of land that was VERY narrow, along that NE coast of Florida.
If, as its editorial board implies, Google is the whale, then that surely makes the Seattle Times the doomed whaling ship Pequod, and publisher Frank Blethen the embittered Captain Ahab, tragically bent on hunting down the beast that took his leg.
