Barry Ritholtz asks the question. I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that a right wing talk radio operative from Chicago registered a tea party site–last summer.
The VWRC lives! If it does turn out that Santelli was indeed involved in a coordinated, pre-planned offensive against Obama, he deserves to be fired immediately. And then his journalism epaulets should be yanked off and his journalist license revoked.
Then he can be hired by Fox Noise, which has no journalists.

Dishonest Food Processors Cheat Customers With Sneaky Tricks
Speaking of tea parties, we should hold one in Seattle, and dump tunafish and popsicles into Puget Sound.
It’s bad enough that food processers are raising prices in big gulps. But what I really resent is the SNEAKY way they’re doing it. Do they think we don’t notice?
A few days ago, I posted about how Bumble Bee is selling 5 oz. of tunafish in the same size can they used to sell 6.5 oz. of tunafish in — and for the same price. That’s a 23% overnight price increase.
Today, I noticed that a bag of 18 popsicles is now a bag of 12 popsicles. For the same price, of course. This time they changed the packaging. From a clear cellophane bag to an opaque bag — so you can’t see there’s a lot fewer popsicles in the bag than there was last week. That’s a 50% overnight price increase.
I didn’t buy the popsicles, but I bought a bag of Tim’s Potato Chips, the 9 oz. size bag. Except now it’s an 8 oz. bag. That’s an 11% overnight price increase.
I’m not sure what the official food inflation statistic is, but that figure, whatever it is, is bullshit. Food prices aren’t going up by any 5% or 6% a year. They’re going up every fucking week in 20%, 40%, and 60% leaps. Mostly by shrinking the contents and changing the packaging to fool consumers.
Like I said, the sheer size of the price increases is bad enough, but the dishonesty the industry is employing to hide the increases is even worse.
Bumble Bee and Tim, you’ve lost my business. A cheated customer is an angry customer. In the future your products will have no place in my pantry. I’ll be happy to throw them into Puget Sound.

Let them try to make that argument. They will be losing even more real americans and voters who do not want to see the economy and the country fail. Puddybud @ 19
I am pretty sure your list is totally INCORRECT. You have listed the most popular political party in the county in question, instead of the most popular political party in the small wealthy community itself.
For example, Davidson County, Tennessee (county seat is Nashville) as a whole voted for Barack Obama over John McCain by a margin of 158,423 to 102,915.
However, the small and very rich little city of Belle Meade, which is Precinct 23-4 in Davidson County, voted for John McCain over Barack Obama by the overwhelming margin of 1,389 to 510.
While Al Gore may have a nice mansion in Belle Meade, he is outvoted overwhelming by his predominately Republican neighbors.
Puddybud, Hey it's the new year... spews:
Okay Richard I got #7 wrong so it’s 12 to 3. Wonder why Richard, you went all the way to #7? Yep Al Gore lives in Belle Meade wasting all that energy with “carbon credits”. My point is Dr NotRight is claiming rich Republicans.

rhp6033 spews:
So Puddy @ 24 puts out a B.S. list, Richard Pope grabs one at random and points out it’s nonsense, and Puddy then argues that he has to prove every one of them wrong in order to invalidate Puddy’s point. Of course, Puddy intents to send Richard on a wild-goose chase disproving every element of Puddy’s post, but in the meantime Puddy will have posted fifteen new posts, each one of them equally wrong.
I saw the problem with Puddy’s post right away, even though I didn’t recognize the names of the towns. That was the first clue – no cities, just suburbs. That’s like saying Medina is a Democratic community because it’s in King County.
But what difference does it make? Democrats will often vote to tax themselves when it is appropriate, regardless of what income class they are in. Some of the biggest proponants against inherited wealth are two of the richest men in the country, Warren Buffett and Bill Gates Jr., as is Bill Gates Sr. They see nothing wrong with a stiff inheritance tax. So if Obama’s tax reforms will affect Democrats as well as Republicans, then what point does that make – other than it’s probably fairer than any “tax reform” advocated by the Republican Party in the past?
Of course, what Puddy’s post DOES show is that he’s able to take a list created by somebody else, not check the facts, and then argue that it supports a point which it doesn’t. That kind of mindless posting tends to have an affect on credibility, doesn’t it?
Puddybud, Hey it's the new year... spews:
rhp6033: Since Dr NotRight is trying to make the rich out to be Republicans, Puddy decided to check out his statement. You accept anything written by Democratics as gospel truths. Puddy don’t.
Since Richard decided to visit Al Gore ASSHat land he wrote:
, so why is your pink lace panties tightening around your little scrote rhp? As Richard said:
So why not visit the burbs and try to make it fair.
Yep, rhp Puddy went to Wiki found the 100 richest cities and started looking them up. Are you saying inner city minorities are rich? Come on rhp you said above:
You could have looked into Dr NotRight’s worthless posting too. But you accepted his ASSHat comment on face value. Only thing is Wiki didn’t comment on them. Puddy did. You on the hand do little of your own investigations.
correctnotright spews:
@19: Once again Puddy, you are off on a tangent.
Did I say that only republicans were rich? No.
The point is that republicans are supporting policies that benefit the rich, and then whine like stuck pigs about the “poor” rich who will have to pay their fair share of taxes. Those poor rich folks (most of whom inherited thier money anyways)will have to pay taxes instead of paying those fancy lawyers to get all those fake deductions.
So Puddy, do you think that people making over 250K should be able to buy the best lawyers in the world to get out of paying their taxes? Or should we make them pay their fair share and cover health care for all?
Simple question, really. The rest of your BS is just that. Who cares what the political preferences of richer counties are? Republicans are supporting the ability of the top 2% to get out of paying their fair share.
And don’t give me the same pathetically stupid argument that the rich pay most of the taxes.
Sure they do, they make most of the money and should pay most of the taxes. The problem is that they pay less than they should because of the Bush tax cuts and the sneaky deductions.
Puddybud, Hey it's the new year... spews:

rhp6033 spews:
Puddy @ # 27: Your ranting ignores the fact, once again, that (a) your list is innacurate, as the population areas you cite are wealthy suburban enclaves populated mostly by Republicans, not cities controlled by Democrats, as you claimed, and (b) the list, even if true, had no relevence to how taxes should be distributed among the various income classes.
I don’t have to accept anybody else’s postings on face value to see that your list lacked credibility or probative value. That was apparant from your own posting.

Talk about not getting the point. And Puddy thinks that I’m denser than spent uranium.
Your argument rests on the ecological fallacy–namely that individual members, or even non-random subsets, of a given population reflect the average attributes of that population.
Richard Pope proved, by way of example, the fact that your argument rests on this ecological fallacy, and, yet, you keep pressing the same ecological fallacy.
Your underlying hypothesis is bunk, Puddy. At that point, no one else bears the burden of proving that your hypothesis is wrong in every single case. Rather, the onus is on you to show that your presumptions about general political views are, indeed, correct.
If we ever needed any evidence that Puddy is incapable of arguing his way out of a wet paper bag, this thread provides ample and convincing proof.
Puddybud, Hey it's the new year... spews:

That’s all he showed Don Joe.
We’re talking about your underlying assumption, and it only takes one counter example to prove that an underlying assumption is false.
‘Course, having never learned how to construct a cogent argument, you wouldn’t know this.
Marvin Stamn spews:
To begin with, the term you used, “fair share” is no where in the Constitution, bill of rights or the irs code.
If you want “fair,” how about a flat 10% tax. Everyone would pay 10%. Since biden has defined patriotic as paying taxes, this would allow everyone to be patriotic besides those rich enough.
Of course, a flat tax would screw over the democrat party.
It’s easy to play class warfare and raise taxes on the evil rich, how many poor people would vote for the party of higher taxes if they too had to pay their fair share.
correctnotright spews:
@29: Again- you missed the point and you cited the one statistic that I sadi did not matter. Thanks for proving my point.
Why do you lose almost every discussion on here?
Because you simply do not have the facts to back up what you say, instead you back up some other argument that is totally irrelevant.
Yes, you win the irrelevant argument – so what.

Don Joe spews:
@ 42
Puddy posts and where’s the link?
That’s obviously a typo, but I’m not sure I could have said it better myself. Freudian slip?
Puddy, you are the one trying to make some connection between wealthy cities and democratic politics. In nearly every place but in the vast vacuous expanse you refer to as your head, that would mean that you, Puddy, have the burden of proof. Your lame attempts to shift that burden elsewhere serve only to underscore just how weak your argument is.
You cannot bolster a flawed argument by demanding that other people prove the conclusion to be false. You can only bolster a flawed argument by providing more convincing and clearer evidence.
rhp6033 spews:
31: Again, you avoid the point. You listed the wealthiest cities, not counties. You are trying to call an apple an orange, and hope nobody notices.
But you knew that. I bet you figure whoever yells the loudest wins the argument, too. Sad.
rhp6033 spews:
By the way, Puddy, you started this nonsense when you posted the list to support your point (although the point is somewhat lost, at this juncture). The burden of proof is upon you. But quoting party affiliation for a county isn’t adequate. You have to prove party affiliation for the “wealthiest cities” you asserted in your original thesis, and support that by links, if you want to redeem any credibility in this argument. It’s not our job to do your research for you. Good Luck.
Puddybud, Hey it's the new year... spews:
rhp6033, I’ll answer you since no one can penetrate that Don Joe head.
Richard Pope claims I’m wrong with my hypothesis. He delivers a “voting” result with no link. I told all where I got my richest cities. And you can easily find county by county results from CNN. I would have to navigate through multiple city precincts.
My original comment was around Dr NotRight and his premise that Republicans are pushing for the 2% need relief. I say there are many rich Democratics and many of them live in the counties I posted. I want to see Richard’s “proof”. He accuses me of a bad thesis, but there is no proof.
I don’t accept his proof without a link. Too bad rhp, Richard has to prove it. When I call bullcrap on Pelletizer I usually post a link to refute his crap, unless it’s obvious he’s lying.
Don Joe spews:
@ 46
I told all where I got my richest cities. And you can easily find county by county results from CNN. I would have to navigate through multiple city precincts.
Shorter version of Puddy: Puddy can’t prove what Puddy alleges. It’s too hard. So you’ll just have to prove Puddy’s conclusions are false.
The funny part is: all this occurs after it’s been shown that Puddy’s argument is a fallacy, and none of this has anything to do with what correctnotright was saying.
Puddy’s brain is so completely addled, he no longer knows the difference between “up” and “down”.
Puddybud, Hey it's the new year... spews:
See how DENSE Don Joe is? Richard Pope supplies some values without a link. You’d be screaming all over this blog where’s my proof. I allege these rich cities are in Donkey areas. Until Pope proves me wrong, I stand by my original post.

Puddy can believe that the sky is green and the grass is blue for all the rest of us care. None of us, however, is in any way compelled to accept Puddy’s fallacious reasoning.
Puddy will piss and moan, will speak of “evisceration,” will do everything but fix the flaws in his own argument. Puddy will even try to change the subject:
Believe me I know up and down. When Jesus comes again, I hope to go up. What say you Don Joe?
Not that it matters, but I’ll play. What makes you think Jesus hasn’t already come again? Because some of the prophesies in the Bible weren’t fulfilled in quite the way you’ve expected them to be fulfilled? Didn’t the priests and the pharisees make the same mistake the first time around?
You are, indeed, an inveterate fool, Puddy.
Marvin Stamn spews:
