36 – “Free stuff” is quite the drum beat on the right actually. Googling, I only get 63 hits on soundpolitics but 3,890 on breitbart.com.

I asked about the ‘free stuff’ over at (un)SP last night, and the only answer I got was from a non-regular over there with a story – ‘commutes 4-6 hours’, ‘feeds teh government more than he feeds his family’ ‘pissed about people filing a 1040 and getting money back’ ‘47%’…

It sounded really made-up, sewn-together rightist meme…I pointed out that the 47% is in large measure the working poor, the elderly and very young people just starting out…I never heard back.

I think ‘free stuff’ is the catchy new way to say ‘I got mine’ and ‘don’t give shit to those…”, it’s a cri du coeur from the old white guys watching their world disappear…sad really.

Here in the threads the “free stuff” meme has been used in 83 troll comments reaching back to 2005 – first used by PuddyTrots.. But it’s most used these days by little maxee the asswipe troll.

I guess “free stuff” is the new “handout” which has been used much more – in 345 comments.

@31…..hey, hey, hey let’s not go overboard on this. That not what we mean by free stuff. Us yeoman types out here in wheat and tater country provide you city slickers with cheap stuff like, ya know, white bread and instant mashed. Plus we have harvest festivals and tourist thingies like the laser show at the dam…and we don’t charge you for that. Plus, and I’m probly gonna offend some of you more sensitive types, the free stuff we’re talkin’ about is mostly the stuff for those lazy criminal types who live in certain sections of your cities. Nuff said!

Good point, but Cornyn’s reward is a promotion, despite the performance of the GOP Senate Candidates. Going into this year, nobody thought the Democrats had a chance, and the managed to hold North Dakota, Montana, and Missouri, and pickup Indiana(which I think the GOP would have held if they had re-nominated Lugar, who by the way, when he was mayor in Indianapolis, presided over the consolidation of the city government of Indianapolis with Marion County, sort-of small government), even though the Romney won those states.
