From The Columbian:
Businesses that were drawing down loans to fund these projects have been told by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. that their credit is frozen. These borrowers are being encouraged to seek other financing within the next 90 days. They make up an unknown portion of the 1,000 borrowers whose $400 million worth of loans were seized from the Bank of Clark County on Jan. 16.
“The (FDIC) is going to leave me with unfinished homes that cannot be refinanced, rented or sold,” said a local home builder, who asked The Columbian not to publish his name because he did not want public comments to affect his negotiations with the FDIC.
That TARP thing sure is working well. If it works any better you won’t be able to charge a hamburger.
Unrelated but obvious: anonymous bloggers are a threat to Western Civilization. Anonymous developers get to call newspapers and have their complaints published. Seems equal to me.
Roger Rabbit spews:
I see in the fishwrapper that Republicans are bitching about Gov. Gregoire’s plan to raise $21 million by expanding state liquor sales. They don’t like the idea of the state competing against private businesses that sell beer and wine. Well, I’ve got a suggestion for them — come up with $21 million in taxes they’re willing to pay.

It should be obvious by now to any creature with more neural tissue than a flatworm that TARP is a CROCK.

@2 You didn’t actually think a Republican economic plan would work, did you?
rhp6033 spews:
Republican Plan for everything:
1. Cut Taxes, especially for the wealthy.
2. Deregulate private enterprise.
3. Out-source everything – government work, private industry jobs, etc. Extra credit is given for out-sourcing overseas to employers paying less than $1 a day.
4. When none of that works, throw billions of dollars at the problem, just so you can say you did something. Extra credit for making sure that the money goes directly to private firms who keep the money for themselves, using it to buy other firms or to pay bonuses.
5. When that doesn’t work, rinse and repeat the whole process all over again, until eventually the voters throw your sorry rear end out of office. Then whine that all your problems are caused by “media bias”.

Libs are in full control. All they have to do is change it……
You can bellyache at those wascally wepubwicans all you want but it’s about time to put up or shut up, neither of which I’m sure you will do.
