And counter to others here, I’m actually interested in what republicans have to say. So far, on this blog anyway I’m seeing a lot of nonsense about socialism, marxism, etc, and a lot of racism, greed and shouting. Is this how you want to portray the republican ideal?
What ever happened to the “big tent” of the 1990’s? You all won big when you let anyone in, encouraged different points of view and were a lot more respectful. You’re losing now that your calling people names, throwing reporters off the bus and peddling in division. I’d suggest there is a pretty strong lesson in there for you.
I know quite a number of those big tent people. Barry Goldwater republicans, even Reaganites who just can’t stand the division any more. Few are left calling themselves republicans. Most are defecting to the libertarian party or even voting democrat this time. Some are even writing in Ron Paul..

Since you called me a “LIAR,” I’m not sure me saying anything will make a difference to you. Also since you called me a “KLOWN” you probably won’t have much respect for my answer even if you believe I’m telling the truth.
So where do we go from here?
Let me take a shot at it but I don’t expect you’ll either believe me or even consider my answer..
What he will do depends heavily on our countries financial situation. I expect many of the things on the platform will have serious headwind (healthcare) and others will be undoable financially (Afghanistan). Given that, I expect that after 4 years we will have :
– a growing middle class again
– a rational and reasoned approach to climate change
– subsidies for alternative energy
– lower subsidies for oil
– cap & trade or some other system
– renewed respect for science
– stronger regulation, FDA, EPA and SEC
– a more globally respected America
I expect the deficit trend line to flatten, but not decline given the current mess we’re in. Perhaps in the second 4 years we’ll get to health care………..
